Our Vision

OASES

A program of EBAYC, OASES is a non-profit organization that recruits UC Berkeley students to mentor and tutor under-resourced elementary school youth.

OASES began in 1983 as a service club at University of California, Berkeley. In 1991 the club evolved into a nonprofit that now serves more than 400 students. With a highly effective recruitment and training model, OASES is composed of over 100 mentors providing tutoring and enrichment services to elementary school youth from immigrant & low-income families.

OASES’ vision is that all students in the public education system reach their fullest potential and are supported to achieve success in schools, careers and civic life.

OASES’ mission is to empower students with limited resources through education, mentorship and service to strengthen the Oakland community.
